God in the Workplace: Burnout and Your Spiritual Health

At Rec Room Wellness, we are dedicated to helping individuals and organizations build emotional resilience, promote mental well-being, and foster healthier communities. On May 14th, 2025, we hosted a session for young Christian adults on the topic “God in the Workplace: Burnout and Your Spiritual Health.” The session offered participants an opportunity to reflect, connect, and learn practical tools for sustaining their emotional and spiritual health.

Workshop Highlights

During the session, participants explored key themes and activities essential to maintaining spiritual wellness and preventing burnout:

  • Work is God’s Idea: Exploring scriptures such as Genesis 1:27-28 and 2:19 to understand that work is part of God’s plan and purpose for humanity.
  • Burnout Manifestations: Identifying emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment.
  • We then discussed some strategies to handle burnout.
    • Inviting God into daily routines to find emotional and spiritual strength.
    • Seeking the Holy Spirit’s help to build patience, compassion, and healthier relationships with others.
    • Using faith-based affirmations and scriptural truths to reinforce self-worth and purpose in challenging times.
  • Attendees reflected on personal experiences of burnout, discussing challenges they faced and strategies they found effective.
